A complete guide to Going Forward into Employment
What we do
The Going Forward into Employment (GFiE) Team works across the UK with a range of partners to match people who may not otherwise consider a role in the Civil Service, into a wide variety of Civil Service jobs.
We are actively contributing towards the ambition that the Civil Service will draw on the talents of the widest possible range of geographical and social backgrounds. Our work increases cognitive diversity, reaching out into communities, bringing new voices and lived experiences into the Civil Service.
We provide support to candidates and line managers so that candidates can flourish.
Who we work with
- We work with government departments, charities and Prisons across the UK to support Prison Leavers into finding Civil Service jobs in support of the government’s Beating Crime plan.
- We work with Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and government departments to match Veterans, Military Partners/Spouses and Service Leavers into roles in support of a new government ambition.
- We work with Local Authorities to match Care experienced young people into Civil Service jobs.
- We work with Carers Trust to match Carers into Civil sService jobs.
- We are working with Local Councils in the North West to match people who have been homeless into roles.

We support and facilitate the accreditation of over 28 different life chance schemes across government departments. Click here to read about our network of Life Chance schemes.
